My job in 50 words:
I’m a self-taught, animator, illustrator and designer. I’ve animated for the likes of Manchester Museum and Winchester Science Centre, worked as a designer on 3 published children’s books, assisted Electricity North West on their marketing campaign ‘go low today’ and illustrated for NHS Trafford and Hyde Park Book Club.
My top tip:
Always be kind. You never know who you will meet or how positively they might impact you 🙂

My job in 50 words:
My current role is to reinterpret the seaside collection at Scarborough Museums and Galleries to explore more diverse stories. My role as a freelancer, usually involves making art, curating exhibitions or working with groups or individuals.
I also run a not for profit grass roots arts space called Mandy Apple Collective in Scarborough.
My top tip:
Never feel ashamed by your background or different life experiences. Use your individual skills to your advantage and always be your authentic self!

Working with communities, the public, galleries to coordinate workshop delivery. Curation involves research, working with people, colleagues, technology to make exhibitions accessible, interesting and representative of marginalised people. Being freelance artist requires good time management to work on multiple things at once! Also research, networking and imagination.
