Feel the fear and do it anyway!
Lucy talks about life after graduating from an Arts degree:
"The biggest lesson I learnt from Uni was that you do have to work really hard and opportunities won't be handed to you. With hindsight I would have focussed in more detail at finding my own creative style quicker. As I soon learnt that paid casting opportunities are few and far between so the quicker you develop your style the better. Advice I would say if you do unpaid work at the start of your career to get 'experience' then make sure it is of benefit to you. you can afford to be choosy. Also find inspiring people to collaborate with.
[The most challenging times since graduating have been] when I had to hold down an array of temp jobs to pay the rent and also go to auditions/create work. Getting the balance right between work and life. I feel very lucky that I get to do alot of different creative projects. Mentor support and advice can be really beneficial if it is the right person for you."
